## Description

Many of the greatest artworks began with a sketch. Sharing sketches and other artifacts from the creative process can provide necessary context to an artist’s work and bring value in their own right. See how artists are telling stories of their process across mediums, and how a sketchbook can be your ticket to do the same. The video features Mackenzie Gavenport, co-founder of Ensembl, discussing the platform which allows artists to sell "artifacts" from their creative process, rather than final works. Artifacts can include sketches, drafts, notes, and other materials that contribute to the creation of a song, film, artwork, etc. Mackenzie's background in theater and subsequent interest in Web 3 informed the development of Ensembl.

Mackenzie provides examples of artifacts from various artists who have worked with Ensembl and explains how these digital artifacts can be minted as NFTs. The platform has introduced a physical sketchbook embedded with NFC technology to facilitate the digitization and minting process for artists' sketches.

The sketchbook aims to bridge the gap between artifact creation and its documentation on the platform. It's simple to use: artists draw in it, tap it with their phone to go to a URL for minting, take a photo of their sketch, and then digitize and mint it. Ensembl is working on features like embedded wallets and artist-owned contracts to improve the experience further.

Mackenzie touches on business strategies such as pricing ($34.99 per sketchbook), onboarding more artists through outreach and partnerships with arts organizations, and future plans for expanding into other creative
