## Description

This workshop uses the newly created Grants Program Design Canvas to guide you through every step of designing a grants program - from crafting clear goals to building a program that drives real results. Coach Jay, a former high-performance coach turned Web3 enthusiast, introduces a tool designed to help launch and optimize grants programs called the Grants Program Canvas. He explains that this tool is inspired by the Business Model Canvas, which revolutionized startup business planning by enabling rapid iteration of ideas. The Grants Program Canvas aims to simplify and streamline the complex planning process associated with grants programs, making it easier for organizations to attract high-quality builders to their ecosystems.

The video will cover an overview of the Grants Program Canvas, including a demonstration of how it works. Coach Jay outlines that the canvas is divided into four key phases: Define, Design, Execute, and Learn. Each phase has specific quadrants that guide users through setting objectives, choosing funding mechanisms, defining roles and responsibilities, engaging with audiences, determining disbursement strategies, and conducting retrospectives.

The tool is meant for both new and veteran ecosystem growth leaders and can be used for both new and existing grants programs across various types of organizations. Coach Jay plans to workshop the Define phase in the session using the canvas in a Miro board with audience participation.

In summary, the video presents a hands-on session on how to use a strategic planning tool for grants programs within Web3 ecosystems, aiming to help leaders effectively plan and grow their initiatives.
