## Description

Talk Session by Scroll. The video features RH, who introduces updates and future visions for the Scroll ecosystem in a relaxed, engaging manner. He begins with an overview of Scroll's recent achievements, noting its high ranking in total value locked (TVL) and significant growth since October 2023. He highlights the Darwin upgrade that reduced gas fees by 34% through proof recursion and mentions various ecosystem partners.

RH then discusses Scroll Level Up, a public goods platform created by Scroll to facilitate learning about blockchain development and Solidity. The platform includes hackathons and educational content, aiming to support developers' growth within the Web3 space. He also touches on community aspects like meetups and Telegram groups that foster engagement.

Finally, RH introduces the Level Up grants program with two tracks for applicants—start track and launch track—although he notes that applications are currently closed. The talk concludes with RH providing resources for further information on Scroll and inviting questions if time allows.

I feel like this is a smaller crowd, so I might have some time to go on a rant or probably like ramble on for a bit. So it's still just going to be like 10 minutes. I'll do a quick introduction and then afterwards I'll go through what are some of the updates for the scroll ecosystem. And then we're going to go into like the future visions. Small crowd, I'll try to inject some energy and get everyone to like wake up in this morning. By the way, I love how you all are here today. and get everyone to wake up in this morning. By the way, I love how you all are here today. All right, so my name is R.H., a very quick introduction. I look exactly like my PFP over here. I think this is hilarious. I'll just flex for all of you later. And some of the recent activities that we have had done is introduction of Level Up, which I'll go into a little bit later. And then what to expect. This is a standard hackathon that I prepared for. So in all of the hackathons, we usually enter hackathon conferences, coming in staff for knowledge, wanting to learn more, wanting to understand more about the ecosystem. So we come in like this. But every time at the end of the hackathon, my goal is for all of us to walk away like that. Probably not with the chicken on hand, but yeah, that is the goal. All beefy with the knowledge that we've gathered. So moving on, I'll go into the key sharing worth your time, hopefully. I try to stray away from the word agenda because agenda feels very transactionary. There's nothing that I want to impose on you. There's no agenda that I'm coming through with. It's more so a quick sharing with everyone. It's going to cover the scroll updates and the vision, which is for a scroll level up or what we have. Moving on. For scroll updates, we're going to go through some of the ecosystem updates. A quick one here. We did see that scroll is right now top five in terms of TVL. This is the latest data pool from l2b.com last night. You can see that scroll is right now number five. We're actually neck and neck with Mantle. That's pretty cool. We do see some traction in activity level for the scroll ecosystem. And then from the inception, 2023, it was in October, we can see that the growth has been astronomical. This was something that could not have been possible without the support from the community. EVE Tokyo team has been lovely to also have us. Moving on, I would say that growth is insane. I'm a huge fan of Dragon Ball. We're all just going like Super Saiyan level over here. Total value law, we're hitting 1 by 3 million. Transaction counts are 9 million. And these are all in our ecosystem page. Moving on, covering some of the recent upgrades on August 21st, if I recall correctly, we have the latest mainnet upgrade. We call it the Darwin upgrade. The Darwin upgrade reduces gas fees by 34%. Essentially, we're introducing proof recursion in this latest upgrade. So the demand for reducing fees, we are seeing them. We're hearing what the community needs, and then we are actively pursuing them. And relative to that, one of our co-founders, Zhang Ye, leading the research, definitely we've been seeing that there's reduction in terms of the on-chain cost. And then this was also being echoed in X, and this was something quite stoked to see. Some of the ecosystem projects that we see in our ecosystem page, we have like Aave, we have different types of partners over here that are different, SAFE as well, and just like a quick representation we have different types of partners over here that are different, SAFE as well. And just like a quick representation of the different kind of projects that Scroll ecosystem has. And then moving forward very quickly to Scroll Level Up. And Scroll Level Up was a quick introduction that we also shared here. And that was a public goods platform, which is bootstrapped by Scroll. a public goods platform, which is bootstrapped by Scroll. And it's essentially a platform that enables all of us to bridge in into how do we start learning about Solidity. But it's not all that. There are other types of learning contents. We're going to be having a hackathon that is embedded inside. We did include EVE Tokyo as well for the hackathons that are available. And then also Level Up Argentina is also inside. So this is going to be a growing list of the different type of hackathons that we would like to be a part of. So Level Up itself is going to be like a brand where we want to encourage learning and then all the individuals to also understand how to become a developer in this ecosystem. So, yep, that was my quick spiel about Level Up, but putting it into an illustration, like the picture over here, this was done by my colleague. You're getting probably the boring version of me because my colleague was supposed to be up here on stage, but I am the less cool version. But regardless, you're all stuck with me in this beautiful morning. And how it works is we're going to be having different types of challenges, different types of blogs, technical content. We have podcasts, which is coming soon. And then the templates over here would be referring to different kinds of challenges. And this allows you to test your skill sets, and then you can put them to test through the different hackathons. It's essentially going to be like a life cycle of learning for you. How do you actually come up and be an up-and-coming dev in the Web3 space, I would say. It helps you to get your gear running and eventually cement your footing in this ecosystem. We also have different types of communities, definitely, like meetups. One of them was the latest one, I think, the career level up meetup. That was something really fun. Spoke with some of the Korean developers over here. They are really smart, really brilliant. I'm so stoked to see the community growing in such an organic fashion. And then coming into communities as well, we have our Telegram group. And that is the Level Up Telegram group. And for different types of hackathons, I would encourage you to be in there. So for future level of hackathons, you can access the Testnet ETH faucet. With the faucet over there, it enables you to accelerate your movement into the different types of scroll-related hackathons. Because there are some faucets out there that require you to have mainnet ETH, but ours, you don't. Anyways, following from that, once you have collectively gone through this life cycle of learning, it would eventually build up to industry experience, which would then allow you to start up maybe your own grassroots project, or maybe even secure a job in Web3, which we are ultimately perhaps looking for. Level Up Hackathon, this was one of the hackathons that was conducted. It was also echoed quite a bit through social media. It was a Level Up Hackathon by Ethereum Argentina. One of the things that Scroll focuses a lot on would be also in different types of markets. We don't only want to encourage localization of one region specifically. So we also target areas like in Latam, areas in Asia Pacific, Turkey. So these are all the growing communities that we are looking to support because we believe that there are incredibly immense amount of talent all over the world. So what's more to come for Level Up? We're going to have podcasts, meetups, Hacker House, and also like Scroll Canvas potentially. And this is a supplementary slide. This might be a little bit old, but it's still relevant. A lot of devs typically ask like, oh, wow, this is awesome, but what is next? So we would love to see release more grants, right? So this was actually previously done, so it has not yet been updated, but the grants is something new that we have released for LevelUp. There are two tracks, essentially, starter track and launch track. But this LevelUp grants, it has to be applied through the LevelUp website if you look at the site banner, but unfortunately, LevelUp grants is closed, but this is more so an introduction of what's to come. This is only like the first wave, but potentially there's going to be more in the future. Yeah, so that's a quick TLDR on LevelUp and also the entire scroll ecosystem. These are the handle scroll.io, scroll.zkp, where you can learn more about scroll. If you're interested in the scroll LevelUp website, then you have it on the left, Telegram group on your right, and it gives like access to like testnet for hackathons thank you and i guess that's time right or do i have time for questions i guess not thanks very much for your attention
