## Description

Greg Skril from ENS Labs presents on integrating ENS (Ethereum Name Service) for identity in applications. ENS is a decentralized, permissionless naming protocol on Ethereum that maps complex hex addresses to human-readable names, similar to how DNS maps IPs to domains. ENS supports forward (name-to-address) and reverse (address-to-name) resolution, enabling user profiles with avatars, descriptions, and addresses across multiple chains.

The ENS registry and resolvers (including the public resolver) store addresses, text records, and content hashes, supporting decentralized websites and cross-chain functionality. ENS also supports off-chain data resolution via CCIP Read (EIP-3668), enabling flexible L2 subdomains. Developers are encouraged to replace hex addresses with ENS names in wallets, AI agents, DeFi apps, and social platforms. Tools like Duran simplify L2 subname creation and primary name assignment. The talk concludes with resources, hackathon prize categories, and a walkthrough of Duran for deploying ENS subdomains and customizing registration logic.
