## Description

What if you could build EVM-compatible smart contracts secured by Bitcoin? In this groundbreaking talk at Pragma Singapore 2024, Daniel Fogg, CEO of Rootstock Labs, and Sascha Gutzeit, founder of the Rootstock Collective, unveil how Rootstock is unlocking DeFi and smart contracts on Bitcoin through full EVM compatibility and merge-mined security.

Learn how Rootstock is addressing the Bitcoin Builder’s Dilemma—where miners benefit but developers don’t—and how the launch of the Rootstock Collective DAO and the BitVMX bridge framework aim to transform Bitcoin into a scalable platform for DeFi, NFTs, and more. This talk breaks down the evolving Bitcoin L2 landscape, Rootstock’s architecture and ecosystem growth, and the exciting developer opportunities for Ethereum builders to easily deploy on Bitcoin.
