Speaker: Braden Pezeshki of Unstoppable Domains

Abstract: Discuss and show how .crypto works as well as how domain resolution works in
a browser., a domain registry on Ethereum that exists outside of traditional DNS. I’d also like to show you the Unstoppable Browser, a tool that enables you to resolve .crypto domains just like a .com domain. DNS, the standard for naming on the internet, uses a centralized set of servers to record ownership. The system is designed so that every user must have a 3rd party custody their domain assets for them. Blockchains make this unnecessary. I built a fully functioning domain registry and launched it on the Ethereum blockchain. It is called .crypto. Domains are ERC721 tokens and are completely controlled by the user. .Crypto uses a suite of 6 different smart contracts. Here is what they do. Here is the Unstoppable Browser. It has an IPFS node inside of it.

This talk was recorded Friday, February 14, 2020.

ETHDenver 2020’s content themes included DeFi; DAOs and Token Engineering (TE); Gaming and Usability; Protocols and Interoperability; and Public Good and Social Impact.

Industry experts also weighed in on topics like decentralization, privacy, identity, non-fungible tokens, scaling, governance, diversity, and arts and culture in blockchain technology.

The 2020 event was February 14-16 in Denver, Colorado and hosted 2000+ blockchain enthusiasts, developers and community members from 50 countries and 50 U.S. states.
