Marek Olszewski presents the launch of the Celo Eclair Testnet, the first public network to combine SP1 (Succinct Prover 1) and EigenDA (specifically EigenDA v2) for data availability. Celo, having transitioned from an L1 to an OP Stack-based L2, leverages optimistic rollup architecture with ZK (zero-knowledge) fault proofs, enabling low transaction fees and rapid finality. The Eclair testnet showcases real-time proving, synchronous composability, and Celo-specific features like stablecoin gas payments and ERC20/native token duality.

The integration of SP1 allows for fast, efficient ZK proofs, while EigenDA v2 improves data throughput and validation speed. Marek demonstrates a live challenge-response proving process, highlighting the network’s security and speed. Eclair paves the way for future upgrades, including full ZKVM validation and higher throughput, and will undergo audits and further testing before mainnet release.
