## Description

Lido Community Staking Module adds a permissionless entry to the Lido on Ethereum Node Operator set, enfranchises solo-staker participation in the protocol, and maintains Ethereum protocol security and reliability.

Let’s think about the Community Staking Module (CSM) as an interface and take a look at interaction with it, from the widget fields and buttons to bonds and reward distribution.

See how easy it is to join CSM and start working for the sake of Ethereum decentralization.

There will be community OAT sharing for early adopters.

uh hello everyone um my name is Dimitri and let's start that's right now and let's start with the following PES I think most of us will agree on that eum should be secure decentralized and censorship resistant what does ethereum need to achieve that it needs for more Soul sers aligned with its goals and where it does Lia fit into this picture we used to think about Lia as a created set of big professional operators running thousand of file datas on their own but s uh but L is not only this and there is a thing I want to talk about today and this is a CSM Community staking module it is an extension of the LI protocol created specifically for Community stakers who are these community to sters it is independent individuals and so on you got it it is the folks who are interesting who care about the future of ethereum and want to participate in the in the ethereum validation and um with this in mind CSM was built was built on the following key values first it is to reduce barriers to entry both economic and Technical barriers second it is improve ethereum's resilience and finally make solidation more profitable and um what do you need to actually become a Sol ster first you will need four Capital it is at least 32 if to create validator on the eum network and the last time I checked it was about $80,000 and this is really huge pile of money and how can CSM help here um the thing is that you can another operator can get most of the if required to create a validator if they provide a bond such as two if for example and this is is much much lower um amount of money basically to create a validator compared to the vanil set have um the second thing you need it is a hardware so we actually need a validator node is to be properly configured and running and thanks to the um C and partner in Integrations it is possible to create a fully configured validator node just in few clicks um this not will met all the requirements the CSM expect from uh your operator and finally this is the CSM itself it offers the easy to use um simple uh user interface to not to make such ax thing as eum validation even more complicated and let me prove it so for this let's just jump into the uh Community staking uh module widget it is a basically the interface created for uh Community stakers for soul stakers and while we're not connected we can just uh tap on the link on the page and my bad it will go straight to the operator portal with extensive documentation how to actually join CSM and uh we will just go straight to joining CSM and for today we will skip the Step Zero Hardware uh and software preparation because actually we can just jump in without the actual Hardware preparation and there are a lot of different Integrations uh where you can as I said create your validation setup in just a few clicks and and other than that you can just go with your an setup or more complic complicated options such as distributed validator technology so it's completely up to you but anyway you will need to somehow generate your validator keys and there also plenty of options because uh Integrations most of the time uh provide you a way to generate it within the application for example something this um but for today we will just use one of the ways it is a separate two uh there are different types of them um graphical ones and common line ones uh for example Vu which is primarily in graphical user interface oriented but in fact it is a wer around um just a common line utility created by ethereum so if we will go to ethereum um GitHub and go to staking deposit CLI repository there will be a tool to generate uh keys and there are releases for different platforms I have already uh downloaded it for me I just have to unpack it and in the directory um there will be a deposit executable and for this um and today we just create um valat new newon uh this um C also allows to generate new pneumonic for us and the actual command looks like this so it basically deposit new pneumonic and the only argument which is really important for us is the execution address um the thing is that we are supposed to create a validator on the fum Network and most of the if uh will be provided by the protocol and we will have to return the tip back to the protocol and we in this um it is required to have execution um it is required to have withdrawal credentials of of a validator being a withdrawal world of Li and we can grab it this address directly from uh documentation and it's called just um withdrawal world so yeah it's here um so here I already have this address in my history so yeah just uh trust me um and this subtility will ask for a few options so continue with language English and I will just to repeat the execution address uh okay and the language for the pneumonic and it will be in English as well and for this example we will run we'll create two validators keys and it is important that is uh for heska Network um and just create some password for key store okay so here is the generated by The Tool uh aonic generated by the tool we will have to save it for a moment okay and oops okay and it will just to it it asked to retype it back so just pass in and now it's creating our validator case and we yeah now we have two key stores one for the every uh for the every generated key and the deposit data the deposit data is an important file this is the actually uh data we will upload to the CSM uh module uh which will allow for the protocol to create validator uh with your validator case so let's jumping back to the think we don't need this uh to the St to the widget connect our Wallet not this [Music] one okay awesome so we just duplicate for you an information about how to create a Val dator or basically the requirements that CSM expect from you and we now on the step four generate key and we prepare deposit data Json file and let's jump in just to create not operator so let's copy uh the deposit data content okay don't worry we won't need common line anymore I think for this uh talk and yeah we just um have generated two validators keys and um the system recognized amount of keys we're supposed to we're going to upload it's and it automatically uh calculate amount of he required for a bond to be provided so it's a little bit less than two e per uh EV validator key and now we just hit create n operator and I hope it will do it so let's down the transaction I think usually like live presentation supposed to fail so yeah okay awesome so yeah we just uploaded our keys and we have created a new n operator and now we have its uh ID it's uh like the basic identifier of a no operator you won't need it most of the time but just keep in mind sometimes if you will just have to take a look into more details about your n perator you will probably need this ID and uh now let's go to the dashboard uh here we will see information about your keys um now we have two depos keys just Keys we just created and the name says by itself basically so this is amount of keys that the protocol can deposit right now now for you we don't have any active Keys now because we just created another operator there's nothing running at the moment uh we will just wait for the protocol to deposit this keys and uh other thing also have just zeros just because we have no history in our not operator but I will show you a different one in the in a moment and we will describe it in more details and the next thing is to look at to look at it is a bond and rewards uh now we just uploaded some .9 e um it it was converted automatically to S the E because it is a uh token the bond actually is stored in and at the moment just because we just created an another perator there nothing nothing uh to claim there are no rewards owning by no operator and no difference at Bond at all uh but we will see another picture just in a moment and another perator has two addresses uh associated with it it is a manager address and the reward address uh manager address basically uh makes all the service stuff around the around the N operator it means supporting new volor keys removing them um uploading more Bond uh and so on and reward this is basically created through to receive rewards and and sometimes in rare cases when you have no access to the manager address you can use your reward address to reset it to something else and you actually can change this addresses um to basically transfer U theer rights uh to another address and before the talk I created this um request to change um n operator manager address on a different n operator and now I'm going to accept this and to become a manager of another node operator okay this is not operator 3 so it's some kind of early not operators on the test net and it is it has actually some kind of history in it um awesome so now here maybe not now okay let's wait a little bit we will be able to see one more n pator yeah so now we see that our uh notator created by us uh has both uh reward man address on the connected address but also we have a manager role on the N operator 3 at the moment so we can switch to it and go to the dish board and now we see that this ND operator has five active keys so it is actually running uh validators on the cons sare and there also a limit say it is said because actually I was uh required to exit my keys but I didn't do it in um in family manner basically uh so my not was limited with this amount of keys and I also withdraw five keys from the network and I was able to unlock a bond and of the uh Bond I have provided for this uh validators and here we see rewards um it consists of two parts the first one is actually rewards it is uh the part of fees created uh in Fair of the protocol and the excess Bond it is um a little bit tricky because as I said um we um modu stores Bond not in the if but in St and it means that because stf itself is a reasing token so basically with every 24 hour a minute it becomes a little bit more in terms of if you earn or re your bond as well so basically in time you will get something from your bond as well so uh and this case we see that uh we can basically claim both of it uh simultaneously and yep and also we can select the token we would like to get our rewards for now we just go with s the if and we can just do it in one transaction and that's pretty much everything we need from um man management perspective for something you just uploading your case you kep you keep your validators running and eventually you just claim the rewards it doesn't matter when and how you can do it like uh every month every year whatever is like suitable for you anyway it just takes a few transaction for the whole process and yeah now we have our rewards claimed so now it's just zero and some kind of uh dust that's it um yeah but let's back to the new n operator uh the problem with this is that I just generated a case um just right now and I have pretty much exposed Theon for this validator uh but before um case being actually deposited deposited by the protocol you still able to remove your case to avoid them to actually be deposited uh we can go straight to the case uh Tab and select case that uh like Wen depositable deposited and click to remove them um I will just reject it for a moment because I forgot to mention one really important thing removing case comes with a price actually for the every remove operation you will pay something uh because otherwise it is really easy to um make it really often operation but at the same time the protocol expect from another operator if they created EV validator Keys they're supposed to be running and they supposed to be uh correct uh and because of that there is a small removal charge it is a fee which is appliable for I will mention it one more time it is for every single remove operation so at this time I will remove two Cas at once so I will just pay once but if you will try to remove Keys one by one you will pay every time so let's try it to do it one more time boom we have our keys removed we have nothing here on the dashboard and we also see that we now available to claim just released Bond just because we remov the case we the model has no requirements to kept any bond uh for the protocol so we can claim it back but as you can see it is a little bit lower than we create it was before just because the charge fee was applied for uh for the N operator and um the last thing I would like to show here is probably the external dashboards beon chain has really uh nice uh dashboard for up to 20 validators and you can see history of um your n perator uh and basically track it performance performance matters because we understand uh it is crucial to actually have our validators up and running um that's pretty much it and awesome I just uh I think it's look okay yeah the last speech for today um CSM introduced uh such a thing as Bond core validator so basically we can Define how much if it is required for or bond for every um single validator and because of that uh we can create a pretty personalized uh curves and we have a special ones uh it is it is it's called early uh it's curve for early adopters and it means that if your address is in this early adopter list you will be able to create your first the very first validator with a discount in a price of for example 1.1 1.5 If instead of two if as it works for the rest of the N operators and to to be added in the list you have a few options first it is to be the already identified solo sters and be for example in the rated list and you probably already uh will be in the ear adops list as well the second option is to join CSM testet and keep your validators running for at least months with a decent performance unfortunately uh I think it's not the case at the moment is because we will do a snapshot on the thir of September or something so basically have have no time but there is another options and it is about this you can uh claim your or and um basically hunt for different ODS on different uh Li Community taking events and you will able to earn enough points to get included in the early adopter list and get the reduced requirements for their very first validator on CSM thank you that's it yeah thank you you showed a way how to um establish your that not not operator right not operator right um you use Keys use metamask uh is it possible to do that with uh just smart contract with solidity uh I mean just I want to apply that on my uh four 46 to6 volt to do that automatically and I want to create my own interface and allow my users to do that is it possible or yeah in general just smart contracts so you can you just have to call a function submit like create not operator with a deposit data need um with address Sy something and you can do it from whatever account on the eum network even if it is a smart contract and another smart contract for example it doesn't matter so you just have to follow the integration like basically to understand what function to call that that's it anybody else any questions awesome thank you
