## Description

In this workshop, Mathieu Bertin, engineering manager at Ledger, introduces Ledger's direct connectivity solution — the Ledger Button — which allows DApp developers to integrate Ledger hardware wallet connectivity directly into their applications without requiring users to install browser extensions. Built on the Lit web component framework for cross-framework compatibility, it provides a full EIP-1193 provider supporting account fetching, transaction signing, clear signing, transaction simulation checks, and both USB and Bluetooth connectivity.

Mathieu also covers Ledger's clear signing initiative, contrasting it with unsafe blind signing by showing how clear signing makes transaction details transparent and human-readable on the device. He does a live demo on 1inch connecting a Nano Gen 5 via Bluetooth to initiate a swap with clear signing. He then introduces the Device Management Kit, a modular set of libraries supporting Ethereum, Bitcoin, Solana, and Cosmos with transports for USB, BLE, and React Native. The hackathon features two tracks: AI agents interacting with Ledger devices and clear signing integration.
