## Description

Discover how Martin Köppelmann, founder of Gnosis, has spent over a decade exploring “Circles”—a radical new approach to money focused on fairness, continuous issuance, and built-in demurrage. Martin explains how “personal currencies” and “web-of-trust” allow anyone to issue their own tokens, creating a resilient peer-to-peer economy.

Learn about the history of Circles since its 2020 launch, real-world trials in Berlin, and upcoming Circles 2.0 features like groups and attestations that aim to make money truly equitable and community-driven. If you’re interested in decentralized identity, local economies, universal basic income, and next-generation finance, this talk provides a bold blueprint for reimagining currency.
