Kevin Jones, Developer Relations Engineer at Edge & Node, presents an overview and live demo of building on Hypergraph, a new framework from The Graph Protocol for developing knowledge graph-based Web3 applications. He covers The Graph’s decentralized data indexing network, subgraphs, Token API, substreams, Firehose, and MCP servers for AI integration. Hypergraph introduces a knowledge graph model with entities, types, properties, and spaces, enabling optimized, structured data storage and curation. It supports both public and private data via a local-first sync server, with selective publishing to IPFS and blockchain.

The framework is type-first (TypeScript), AI-friendly, and supports real-time collaboration and governance. Kevin demonstrates creating an academic app using Hypergraph CLI, defining schemas, managing private/public spaces, and publishing data on-chain.
