## Description

Every forest tells a story in data—tree height, carbon stored, biodiversity returning. When shared, this data becomes a tool for restoring nature and fighting climate change.

In this Open Conversation, Diego Saez Gil, co-founder and CEO of Pachama, shares what he’s learned after six years of building technology in service of forests. Pachama uses satellite images, LiDAR scans, and AI to measure the carbon stored in trees and track how ecosystems regenerate.

Diego argues that this information shouldn’t be locked away. Climate data belongs in the commons, where it can accelerate action for everyone. Nature already knows how to recover—we just need to measure it and collectively act on it.
