Much of the crypto community has entered the space at a young age, and given the rapid growth of the ecosystem, has made (and often lost) a lot of money. While being a degen can be (and is!) a lot of fun, there are ways to do it that won't leave you close to financial ruin. I want to walk through some principles of portfolio design, hedging, and risk management that can be applicable to an individual investor that can balance YOLO/FOMO dynamics with a bit more wealth preservation.

Dina is the Co-Founder and Co-Chief Investment Officer at Syncretic Capital, a cyclical multi-strategy crypto hedge fund. At Syncretic, her focus is on running their portfolio strategy, overseeing risk management, and running some trading strategies, as well as the day-to-day responsibilities of managing a crypto hedge fund. Prior to launching Syncretic Capital, she spent 4+ years at Bridgewater Associates, working for Co-Chief Investment Officer Bob Prince, working on a broad range of his investment interests, leading Bridgewater's crypto initiative, and researching market liquidity. Prior to Bridgewater, she worked at Goldman Sachs in private markets, and before that as quant in exotic equity derivatives.
