The Plural Monolith: A Livecoding Experiment

Sun, Aug 2, 2026, 12:00 AM

Plural Monolith takes the form of a live audiovisual performance structured around a simple image: a black cross and a monolith – four terminals, four arms, each confronting the same hard question from a different angle. That question sits at the heart of Web3: how do you work together as a group without losing your own voice? A group can bring out real strength, shared intelligence, solidarity, order. But it can also become a hiding place, where no one person is responsible, and disagreement gets treated as a problem to fix rather than a voice to hear. The audience takes part by sending in sounds and voice clips to a shared, decentralized soundbank backed by Ethereum Swarm - https://livecoding.eth.limo The performers pull from that soundbank and code it into live music as the show unfolds. The performance was recorded during Neocypherpunk Summit Berlin · 14 June, 2026.
