Ethereum Cultural Victory I Ameen Soleimani at Pragma Denver 2025

Join Ameen Soleimani, Founder of 0xbow.io, at Pragma Denver 2025 for a provocative look at Ethereum’s cultural landscape, its historical power dynamics, and the pitfalls of unchecked “cult” mindsets. Drawing from real-world sociopolitical examples, Ameen critiques the influence of what he calls “Marxist infiltration” in Ethereum, challenges assumptions about community leadership and EF accountability, and advocates for open discourse around governance. From calling out perceived “woke culture” in crypto to praising the achievements of key figures like Danny Ryan, Ameen issues a rallying cry to re-examine Ethereum’s foundational ethos. Whether you’re wrestling with protocol-level disputes or simply curious about the rifts and alliances shaping Ethereum’s social fabric, this talk offers an unfiltered lens on culture’s impact in Web3. 00:00 Introduction & Why Culture Matters 01:28 Civilization Game Analogy & Cultural Victory 02:06 Calling Out Marxism & Ideological Subversion 03:15 Real-World Historical Parallels (Iran & 1979 Revolution) 05:02 Marxist Influence in Ethereum & Gitcoin “Communism” 07:18 “Cancel Culture” Examples (ENS, Gnosis Safe) 09:47 EF Governance & Lack of Formal Leadership 11:52 Danny Ryan as “People’s Choice” for EF 13:32 Critiques of Vitalik’s Approach to Power 16:09 Problems with Protocol Guild & Weighted Streams 18:02 Observations on Woke Dynamics in Web3 20:10 Conclusion: Fighting Religious Fanaticism & Building Wonders _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 🇺🇸 *Pragma Denver* Pragma Denver 2025 was held on February 25th at ReelWorks in Denver, Colorado and was an in-person summit for builders and leaders in the web3 ecosystem.
