Thu, Oct 2, 2025, 12:00 AM

Abhay Upadhyay, software engineer at Akave, explores how to hack the data layer for AI using Akave and Filecoin in this ETHGlobal workshop. Learn about decentralized storage concepts, how Filecoin's incentive-based storage complements Akave's hot storage layer, and how to interact with data agentically using Akave 03's S3-compatible API. Discover practical demos of storing/retrieving files through Akave 03 and integrating local AI models with on-chain data via Model Context Protocol (MCP). Perfect for builders at ETHGlobal hackathons. 00:00 - Introduction to Akave & Filecoin for AI Data 00:43 - Why Decentralized Storage Matters for AI 01:14 - Benefits of Decentralized Storage 01:41 - IPFS vs Filecoin: Key Differences 02:56 - How Akave Complements Filecoin Storage 03:51 - Akave Hot Storage vs Filecoin Warm Storage 04:17 - Akave 03: S3-Compatible Decentralized Storage 05:37 - How Akave Secures Data with Erasure Coding 06:34 - Akave 03 Features and Benefits 07:02 - Live Demo: Akave 03 S3 CLI Setup 08:20 - Creating Buckets & Uploading Files Demo 10:16 - Downloading Files from Akave 03 11:26 - Model Context Protocol (MCP) with Local AI 12:58 - Running MCP Server with Akave Credentials 14:23 - AI Agent Interacting with On-Chain Data _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 🇨🇿 *ETHGlobal Prague* This workshop is specifically for ETHGlobal Prague, a 3-day hackathon held May 30 - June 1 2025, bringing together the most skilled web3 developers, designers and product builders from all around the globe for a weekend-long adventure to advance the Ethereum ecosystem!
