Kirill Balakhonov I Building Effective AI Agents Simple, Composable Patterns I Agentic Ethereum 2025

Thu, Oct 2, 2025, 12:00 AM

Discover how to build effective AI Agents on Ethereum (or any chain) without over-engineered frameworks! Kirill Balakhonov (Nethermind) shares composable patterns—like simple prompt chaining, routing, evaluator-optimizer loops, and minimal autonomous loops—that deliver real results for agentic applications. Learn why starting small and combining well-defined building blocks often yields more reliable, debuggable AI Agents than large “all-in-one” frameworks. Explore real-world examples (like code review, translation workflows, dynamic orchestration) that demonstrate how to harness LLMs efficiently. If you’re looking to streamline AI-driven dApps, this talk is a must-watch! 00:00 Introduction & Background 00:49 Observations on Building AI Agents 01:26 Defining Agentic Systems vs. Workflows 02:40 When to Use Fully Autonomous Agents 04:13 Comparing Existing Frameworks 05:01 Simple Composable Patterns 06:26 Pattern 1: Prompt Chaining 07:21 Pattern 2: Routing & Classification 09:37 Pattern 3: Parallelization 11:22 Pattern 4: Orchestration & Workflows 15:51 Pattern 5: Evaluator–Optimizer Loop 20:10 Minimal Autonomous Agents 24:30 Example: A Minimal Agent’s Internal Loop 29:30 Practical Example (Pricing Summary Agent) 33:00 Combining Patterns & Handling Complexity 36:00 Kirill’s Current Projects & Wrap-Up 37:03 Q&A: Multi-Agent Systems vs. Workflows _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 🤖 *Agentic Ethereum* Agentic Ethereum is an online, async hackathon that runs from Jan. 31 to Feb. 12, 2025. With over $175,000 USD in prizes, Agentic Ethereum is a great way to dive into the world of autonomous AI agents and explore how they can revolutionize projects on Ethereum.
