In this talk, Ivan (Co-Founder of Generic) presents an issuer-less approach to network-native stablecoins, designed to realign incentives between networks, apps, and users. Instead of relying on external stablecoin issuers, Generic enables rollups to launch their own native dollar while retaining control over liquidity and economics. Using Status as an example, Ivan explains how bridged assets earn yield on L1 while users transact with a native stablecoin on the rollup. That yield accrues to the network, giving ecosystems greater flexibility to incentivize usage, liquidity, and onchain activity, without custodial risk or issuer dependence.
