The story of how ShapeShift DAO Shifted

How are budget decisions made in a DAO? Who has the authority to make budget reductions? From Spring 2022 to Winter 2023, ShapeShift DAO cut its budget by over 50%. This was not done in a centralized top-down manner. It was messy and created a lot of conflict. In this talk, Josh Forman, Tokenomics Committee Member at ShapeShift DAO, will walk through how this happened. He will then present some optional ways it could have gone better.
