Fireside chat with ZKsync I Alex Gluchowski & Kartik Talwar at Pragma Denver 2025

Thu, Oct 2, 2025, 12:00 AM

Join Alex Gluchowski, Co-Founder of Matter Labs, and Kartik Talwar at Pragma Denver 2025 for a fireside chat about the Elastic Network, the next major evolution in ZK Sync’s roadmap. Discover how Matter Labs envisions a “ZK rollup cluster” of application-specific and community-specific chains, all seamlessly interoperable and secured by zero-knowledge proofs. Alex shares insights on customizing data availability, decentralizing sequencers, and achieving EVM compatibility, along with how the Elastic Network supports both high throughput and isolation. If you’re curious about why ZK is considered the endgame for Ethereum scaling—or simply want to learn how ZK Sync’s era chain fits into a future of thousands of rollups—this conversation is your crash course on building the Internet of blockchains. 00:00 Introduction & Fireside Chat Setup 01:00 Defining the Elastic Network & Rollup Clusters 02:15 Why ZK Sync Is Building Multiple Chains 03:06 Customizing Data Availability & Chain Properties 04:44 Interoperability vs. Cross-Chain Messaging 06:10 Infinite Scalability & Security Isolation with ZK 07:41 Handling Different Base Tokens & Fee Payment 09:32 Sequencing & Decentralization Roadmap 11:14 The Role of ZK Sync Era as the “Ethereum” of This Cluster 13:06 Tapping into Shared Integrations & Infrastructure 14:07 Trade-Offs & ZK Proof Costs 16:03 EVM Equivalence & Next Steps 18:30 Roadmap Highlights for 2025 20:36 Final Thoughts & Closing _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 🇺🇸 *Pragma Denver* Pragma Denver 2025 was held on February 25th at ReelWorks in Denver, Colorado and was an in-person summit for builders and leaders in the web3 ecosystem.
