Remco Bloemen of Worldcoin takes the stage at Pragma Lisbon 2023 to announce that Worldcoin is officially joining the Optimism Superchain. In this talk, Remco shares the mission behind Worldcoin — creating a global identity and financial network — and dives into the technology behind the Orb, World ID, and World App. He discusses why proof of personhood is crucial in the age of AI and how privacy-preserving digital identity will shape the next generation of decentralized apps. Learn why Worldcoin chose the OP Stack, how they deployed 1.7M Gnosis Safes, and how EIP-4844 and mobile ZK proof generation are key to onboarding a billion users. The talk closes with an NFT giveaway and a call to developers to help shape the future of human-centric blockchain systems. 00:00 Intro to Worldcoin announcement 00:37 Mission: Solving AI-era identity 01:11 Why blockchain needs proof of humanness 01:42 Why iris biometrics and the Orb 02:51 Privacy by design and World ID 03:27 World App overview and adoption 04:06 Use cases for World ID and SDK 04:52 Why Worldcoin needs a billion-user chain 06:04 Requirements for a global chain 06:44 Exploring scalability and early designs 07:51 Hubble implementation and limitations 08:32 Transition to EVM and gnosis safes 09:45 Gas subsidy and user volume 10:23 Launching on Optimism Superchain 11:06 Benefits of the OP Stack and 4844 11:44 Migrating 1.7M users to Optimism 12:27 Optimism team joins to share NFT + bounties 13:33 Hiring and developer opportunities _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 🇵🇹 *Pragma Lisbon* Pragma Lisbon 2023 took place at Casa do Alentejo on May 11, 2023, and was an in-person summit for builders and leaders in the web3 ecosystem.
