Standards-building is key to accelerating development of any kind of technology which has multiple stakeholders. This is technical and political. The Ethereum community has been working together on developing standards since the beginning, from protocol updates, to the design of the ERC-20 token, to very new ideas like flash loans. This talk describes the standards process in Ethereum-land, focusing on several key groups: core devs, EIP editors, Cat Herders, and Ethereum Magicians. We will also discuss the tools used by these groups, how to resolve problems, how to come to decisions.
