Ethereum began with a clean split: EOAs sign, contracts execute. As the ecosystem matured, that line started to feel rigid, pushing the move toward Account Abstraction. This talk zooms in on EIP-7702: how it lets EOAs temporarily delegate execution to contract code, enabling smarter validation and behavior without forcing a full migration to smart contract wallets. We’ll walk through how 7702 works in practice, what it unlocks, its trade-offs and shared mempool implications, and then briefly situate it alongside delegated key management (EIP-7851) and the longer-term vision of native AA via EIP-8141.
