From Self-Custody to Everyday Use: What Wallets Must Get Right | Seihaku Yoshida, Pragma Tokyo 2026

Seihaku Yoshida, Founder and CEO of HashPort, explains how non-custodial wallets can become everyday financial applications rather than simple stores of digital assets. He details HashPort Wallet’s 1.1 million users, its integration with KDDI’s au PAY ecosystem, the HashPort Visa card, and a stablecoin payment pilot connected directly to Lawson’s point-of-sale system. The platform supports merchant settlement in yen, open wallet APIs, more than 400 participating shops, multiple chains, multiple tokens, and both consumer and business wallets. Yoshida also maps Japan’s evolving stablecoin framework, including JPYC, SBI and Startale’s yen stablecoin, foreign-issued USDC, and the different rules for payment and trust-bank products. HashPort is extending this infrastructure to AI agents through a wallet MCP that can manage onchain transactions, fiat ramps, restaurant payments, and hotel reservations.
