Thu, Apr 2, 2026, 12:00 AM
In this interview, Harry Halpin (Nym) explores privacy as a system-wide property built on anonymity and selective disclosure. He discusses the evolution from individual-focused cypherpunk values to more collective, community-driven approaches enabled by privacy technologies. Halpin highlights everyday tools like mixnets, Signal, and privacy-first browsers, while emphasizing the importance of using these technologies by default. He also shares a vision of decentralized infrastructure and “parallel societies” that can support free expression and coordination in an adversarial world.
