In this keynote, Jovanni, Coreum's blockchain director, emphasizes the critical role that institutions play in achieving mass adoption of blockchain technology. According to Jovanni, for blockchain to be widely adopted, institutions must actively participate and support it. The concept of a "Superledger" was introduced, aiming to amalgamate capabilities from both decentralized networks and compliance-based chains. Coreum, utilizing the Cosmos SDK, presented smart tokens that offer developers pre-implemented logic and the ability to extend functionality through CosmWasm contracts in Rust. Key features like interoperability with IBC, ISO20022 compatibility, an XRPL bridge, and cross-chain smart tokens were highlighted.
