Adel Akbar I LayerZero Workshop I ETHGlobal Prague 2025

Thu, Oct 2, 2025, 12:00 AM

Adel Akbar from LayerZero Labs presents a comprehensive workshop on cross-chain interoperability at ETHGlobal Prague 2025. Learn how LayerZero's permissionless messaging protocol enables secure asset transfers between blockchains using modular security stacks (DVNs) and immutable endpoints. The session covers OFT token standards, LZ Compose for cross-chain actions, and the new LZ Read primitive for cross-chain queries, with live demos of contract deployment and message passing. Essential for developers building multi-chain applications or exploring secure bridge alternatives to monolithic architectures. 00:00 - Introduction to LayerZero's Cross-Chain Protocol 00:42 - Evolution of Blockchain Interoperability Needs 01:33 - Problems with Monolithic Bridge Security 03:00 - LayerZero's Modular Security Solution 03:31 - Core Principles: Permissionless & Immutable 04:32 - OApp Primitive: Basic Cross-Chain Messaging 05:01 - DVN Architecture: Decentralized Verification 06:01 - OFT Standard: Omnichain Fungible Tokens 07:03 - LayerZero's Full Application Stack 07:33 - New Features: LZ Compose & LZ Read 08:36 - Getting Started: LayerZero CLI Setup 09:45 - OFT Contract Structure Explained 10:49 - Testing Cross-Chain Transfers 11:20 - Network Configuration & Deployment 13:00 - Wiring Contracts for Cross-Chain Comm 14:07 - Hackathon Tracks: Compose vs Read 15:07 - Q&A: NFT Adapters & DVN Trust Models 16:31 - Configuring Multiple DVNs for Security _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 🇨🇿 *ETHGlobal Prague* This workshop is specifically for ETHGlobal Prague, a 3-day hackathon held May 30 - June 1 2025, bringing together the most skilled web3 developers, designers and product builders from all around the globe for a weekend-long adventure to advance the Ethereum ecosystem!
