Most ecosystems don't take a principled approach to building developer ecosystems. They think that building some basic docs, putting out bounties, and showing up at events will get them where they need to go. But it won't. This talk is meant for founders and DevRel leaders. Here's what I'll cover: -the 'developer' and 'relations' sides of DevRel (they require distinct skillsets) -how to properly prepare for and run a hackathon -building great developer tooling and docs -the importance of building your own distribution channels Sam Flamini Developer Experience Lead Superfluid Finance I came to crypto after starting an Amazon delivery franchise and selling SaaS. Like many others, I began my journey in the space reading whitepapers and wrapping my head around Bitcoin & what it meant for society. But as I continued along the path I felt the need to contribute on a technical level. So I taught myself to code, started building my own projects, and ultimately created Youtube tutorials and developer guides. Doing this allowed me to land a role in developer relations, and today I lead Developer Experience at https://superfluid.finance. I also host the Devs Do Something Podcast, a show for web3 engineers that so far has included talks with technical leaders such as Austin Griffith, Patrick Collins, and senior engineers from protocols like Connext, Maker, Balancer, and more. https://twitter.com/sflamini5
