Nik Erzetic I Flare Workshop, Bring Any Web2 Data On Chain I ETHGlobal Prague 2025

Thu, Oct 2, 2025, 12:00 AM

Nik Erzetic demonstrates how to bring any Web2 data on-chain using Flare's enshrined oracles in this ETHGlobal Prague 2025 workshop. Learn the complete workflow from API data extraction (shown with a Star Wars API example) to on-chain verification, including JQ filtering, attestation requests, and Merkle proof validation. Discover how Flare's Data Connector (FDC) protocol enables trustless data bridging for smart contracts, with practical examples from the Flare Hardhat Starter repository. Essential for developers building data-driven dApps or needing reliable off-chain data in their blockchain applications. 00:00 - Introduction to Flare's Data Oracle Capabilities 00:58 - Flare Developer Hub Resources & Hardhat Starter Kit 02:52 - Star Wars API Demo: Querying Character Data 03:53 - JQ Playground: Filtering & Transforming JSON Data 07:06 - Solidity Struct Encoding for On-Chain Storage 10:02 - Flare Data Connector Protocol Workflow Explained 12:42 - Live Script Demo: From API Call to On-Chain Proof 14:29 - Verifier Server Response & Request Encoding 15:25 - Validator Consensus & Proof Finalization 17:27 - Decoding On-Chain Data (R2-D2 Example) 18:09 - Q&A: Website Integration & Private API Handling 21:12 - Data Provenance Verification Methods 23:09 - Latency Discussion: Request to Finalization Time _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 🇨🇿 *ETHGlobal Prague* This workshop is specifically for ETHGlobal Prague, a 3-day hackathon held May 30 - June 1 2025, bringing together the most skilled web3 developers, designers and product builders from all around the globe for a weekend-long adventure to advance the Ethereum ecosystem!
