ETHDam 2023 Launch | Introduction by Alexey Pertsev

foreign [Music] hello beautiful hackers and attendees Wizards magicians crypto Giga brain nerds whatever title you may go by I see there are also some black hat hackers in the room wearing the black hats steady on steady on uh uh thanks a lot for coming everyone um it's an absolute pleasure to be up here again it only seems like last week where we were in the same venue during Dev connect where we hosted I believe it was D5 day here which was absolutely amazing Fuller energy and lots of amazing uh speakers happening oh um today is going to be a lot of content uh the format of this event is there's Keynotes as well as panels we'll have different moderators for all of those including myself so you might hear a lot of my voice over the next 48 hours but so be it um it's important that while you're here make the most out of your event here make sure that while you're hacking your hacking but don't forget to network and also it's nice that this isn't an event with you know 5 000 people this is very intimate so if you have a speaker and you really want to talk to them after the talk or after the panel do go and approach them and ask any questions that you have during this event we're going to be using an app called slido where you can actually ask questions and you can upvote it it's much like Reddit so for those who are familiar with Reddit uh you know what to do if you're not familiar with Reddit yeah I don't know what rock you've been under for a long time um a couple of ground rules of the event uh no running um no drugs and most importantly no discrimination if there is a problem or any point you feel that something's wrong during the event you're feeling unwell or you just have a question please go and reach out to one of the people wearing the blue wristbands and just explain your concern and we'll make sure that it's dealt with ultimately we want to make sure this is a safe space another really important thing to consider is that if you don't want to be photographed you can pick up a red sticker which will means the photographer will not photograph you because ultimately this event is around privacy and um yeah please be respectful during the presentations we don't want anyone kind of shouting abuse or you know talking loudly to your neighbor it's all about respect here um other information is ultimately downstairs is the hackathon area so if you're not a hacker please don't go there because everyone's going to be focused and upstairs is actually the workshop area as well this is the main stage and everything here is going to be um live stream so hello live stream uh hopefully you're going to enjoy this and if you're watching the live stream you can also ask questions during the slido as well uh um yeah that's it for now um my name is JJ if anyone's wondering um but I would like to bring up to the stage the actual organizer of this event and please give a round of applause for Eleanor laughs this is a surreal moment and I'm so happy to be standing in front of all of you wonderful hackers attendee speakers sponsors who have made this possible this is really a it takes an army to pull an event like this and this year I I wanted to well keep the flame alive right we had devconnect last year and that was amazing but I wanted to make sure that we could celebrate something special and to dedicate eastam this year to privacy more than ever it felt like uh privacy was the topic we had to talk about especially considering what was happening to Alex imperative here in the Netherlands a lot of the crypto Canal Community actually gathered for the protests for the hearings and we were trying to bring attention to this case and I thought what better occasion than to actually bring all of you wonderful crypto people together for this event and to inspire others and Inspire privacy Builders to get together and and make a statement basically all of us here to build better tools better front-ends for the future to make sure that this technology that we're all working on remains decentralized censorship resistant and private and has privacy at its core or as an option um so without further Ado I would like to introduce Alexi to the stage I would like to say thank you very much it was so hard time for me I really appreciate your support I'm here today just to welcome you all and wish you good luck and to introduce Mr Chang he's a lawyer that represents my case here in Netherlands and he has some thoughts ideas to share with you today so please welcome kit [Applause]
