Monad Architecture and Benchmarks I Keone Hon at Pragma Denver 2025

Thu, Oct 2, 2025, 12:00 AM

Join Keone Hon, Co-Founder of the Monad Foundation at Pragma Denver 2025 for a deep dive into Monad’s high-performance EVM architecture and the record-breaking benchmarks from its new testnet. Discover how Monad leverages asynchronous execution, a purpose-built MPT database, and parallel transaction processing to target up to 1 billion gas/second with finality in under a second. Through live demos and open-source tooling, Keone shows how developers can push the limits of complex on-chain computation, all while keeping full EVM compatibility. Whether you’re scaling DeFi, building high-throughput dApps, or just curious about next-gen blockchain design, this talk reveals how Monad is reshaping the future of Ethereum-based networks. 00:00 Introduction & Testnet Overview 01:00 Live Network Visualization: gmonad.com 02:15 High Throughput Demo: Large Gas Transactions 04:45 Contract Benchmarks: Increment & Storage Ops 06:30 Open Invite to Explore & Test Break the Network 08:23 Overview of Monad’s Architecture & EVM Compatibility 09:32 Four Core Improvements: MPT Database, Parallel Execution, Async Execution & BFT 11:18 Asynchronous Execution Explained 14:10 Impact on Global Throughput: 1 Billion Gas/Second Goal 15:55 Developer Resources & Current Testnet Stats 16:30 Final Thoughts _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ 🇺🇸 *Pragma Denver* Pragma Denver 2025 was held on February 25th at ReelWorks in Denver, Colorado and was an in-person summit for builders and leaders in the web3 ecosystem.
