Xsolla ZK workshop - Nikita Zinevich | Xsolla ZK

Transcript

So yeah, uh we Exelk and we are hosting a hackathon track and uh in a second I will tell you a little bit where what we're doing and uh what we hope that hackers on Belgrade will do some great things for us. Uh so uh for the next I guess 15 minutes we will cover the agenda. I will explain where what Who who is Exo and why it is? By the way, except from guys in black shorts, does anyone know who who is Exola is? Yeah.

Go on. Oh, we can talk about it later. By the way, I I I I thought that then I will ask it. No one will respond. So, it's a great one.

Yes. So, we will discuss who we are, why Exola. We will have some words about web to gaming about the product and the text tech that we provide and what we are building for web 3 because exor like traditionally is a is a traditional company for web to gaming but we expand so you will know a little bit about that. Uh and also some a few words about the track and prizes and some guidelines for you guys who will be applying to the to the hackathon which we hope all of you will. So let's move uh so first of all uh who we are and what we are building.

So uh we exalt the K uh you may you may ask uh what what does it actually mean? So uh we Exola and ZK stands for zero knowledge because uh we uh building a web uh blockchain infrastructure for game developers in partnership with MLabs. So basically we have a zk roll app uh the same the same as zk sync. So if uh any of you have ever uh deployed or build something on zk sync you you're familiar with all the tech and uh uh what uh we are making as a case. So we basically um focusing on uh on augmenting and expanding experience for uh gamers and game developers to interact with uh with games and especially with uh end game items or so not end game in-game items of course uh I just took a look at the ZK is in game because yeah we really believe that ZK is in game.

So uh let's move on uh and uh actually why is it solo? Why? Because for example, one of the guys on our booth asked us today, so why should I build with Exola? What uh what advantages I would have? And let me explain a little bit for you.

So uh for you uh who does not familiar with Exola, Exola is really the market leader for gaming gaming commerce and uh Exola's uh main access is uh uh providing payment trails for uh game developers. So if you're a big g game developer or if you if you're an indie game developer uh you can came to Exola. You go through the with a simple legal process. You on board to the publishing suit and you out of the box you have a uh best-in-class payment rails which is compliant with 200 plus countries and even in regions like Mana uh like Southeast Asia we are the the leader here. So basically you do not need to uh think about some legal scrutinies, some legal complexities.

You just came to us, we provide you with rails, uh you make money, you build games and we're both happy. And apart from from that, we also have a quite a broad uh ecosystem of uh uh games that are already uh already use our solutions. We have like 100 plus game uh 10,000 plus games uh like uh compliant payments monetization tools like PlayStation which is a payment rail and web shops embedded web shops for games where you can just in a few clicks uh provide your uh players with some offerings and ability to buy in game currencies, items and and other fun stuff. Yeah. So let's move on.

Uh and so let's double click a little bit on the market on uh what the web to gaming like traditional gaming so-called web to gaming look like now. So uh now uh there are some challenges about uh web to gaming which we uh want to address and uh to provide game uh gamers and game developers with a better experience. So uh uh so for now there are some complexities on the on the g on the gamer side like uh side like for example personally I've been playing World of Warcraft for quite a while and uh I stopped playing World of Warcraft about like 10 years ago but uh in the end I do not have anything left with me which can which can I proud of or which I can possess as a part of of me as a human being who spent like third of his life playing the world of workers and uh this a real problem and uh with u the blockchain tech uh with theization we can address this and uh provide gamers with uh the uh with the intention of true ownership and uh they can finally own the progress preserve it with themselves and no matter no no matter what then they wanted to continue their journey as a gamer they can possess the progress and and feel good about it. Uh also uh we see as we have been uh on the market for 20 plus years now that uh gaming ecosystems are uh are separated and your progress uh usually locked in the loop. So if you have progress in a let's say uh X gaming ecosystem on uh the Y gaming ecosystem, you have another progress and they do not merge.

they do not synergize uh between themselves. So uh by putting the progress on chain using a using a blockchain as a like as as a as a as a layer to aggregate all the progress uh players can have a better experience and and game developers can can have a better experience as well because they share the user base. They share the progress and they uh can better address the needs of of the of of the gamers and and of course blockchain is permissionless. you cannot b ban anyone which is also good and uh like I said there are some uh limitations for developers as well and uh mostly it's uh legal scrutinies it's uh complexities with restriction of different platforms when it comes to monetization and especially uh some low sum purchases sub subtent purchases are really complex when you used the additional payment pay payment rails but with the uh web three layers that we provide which we will talk about in a sec. It's way more better.

So, uh a few words about market. So I will not uh keep the close intentional side but just for you to know it's uh the part of the research we've done three years ago and uh it's sorry for that and uh it's uh quite a big opportunity because uh the gaming market itself is uh 200 plus billion but the aggregate um aggregate entertainment market accusing creator economy metaverse and entertainment is like three times as big as gaming and these markets are overlap so it's really great opportunity for developers to uh for web 3 developers, for Ethereum developers like like most of you and for traditional uh game developers who are already in the game in web two uh to synergize uh and yeah so and the grow the and and the most by the way the most noticeable number is the most exciting is that uh uh now according to to some uh researchers it's uh it's around uh three billion gamers worldwide. So imagine uh imagine if uh we uh on board all these people to all these people on chain it will be like times bigger than Ethereum, Salana and other chain user bases in the day which is which is really exciting. Uh so a few words about about the products and and uh the context that uh you will experience uh if you will participate in our track. So uh for now uh we have two major products.

First one it's a zk rollup exel zk it's a elastic chain uh b built on zk stack by provided by metal lababs. So like I said at the beginning very uh familiar uh devx. So if you ever built on a on a zm it's basically the same uh the same smart contract standards the same compilers the same tooling. So you just uh plug and play and even we have some templ templates for you to use if you if you build something. And also uh we have a product which is not yet involved in uh in the track because uh it will be released like uh four to six weeks from now.

Uh but it's a Exola backpack. Exo backpack. It's the flagship uh the flagship product that will drive the whole ecosystem. And the idea behind it is it's a uh it's a backpack of uh various gaming items like uh your achievements, your uh weapons, your skins both uh onchain and uh within the and offchain within the gaming ecosystem. And it's by the way the tech uh the tech spotlight about it.

It's an account abstraction wallet. So uh keep an eye on our on our X account. we will have some interesting announcements in the future. Uh so uh so we're moving uh closer to the track itself. So for the track uh we uh for for the track um I think uh the important thing for you to understand is uh the whole vision on uh what kind of uh what kind of TM uh we are focusing on uh building our products in our ecosystem.

So our main focus is uh gamers who want to um want to collect items in games to collect progress. uh uh the g the gamers who want to uh interact in social connections by gifting items by trading them in a in a permissionless way without any uh restrictions because like uh today let's say if you play a cont if if you play a CS game for example uh if you want to trade items it's kind of great it's kind of gray market you cannot uh trade it for real without any uh without any risks of being uh not scammed by having a harsh experience. So we want to address this by putting this uh uh P2P transactions between uh interactions between gamers on chain and uh also also we provide a crossame experience uh because uh uh we do have uh smart contract plates templates for for NFT marketplaces. So uh this this uh this can be utilized to uh provide the UX for gamers that we uh targeting it at. And also uh in the future one of our main accesses for Exol as a Kica system will be any types of uh uh reward activities, drops and even veterins.

Really cool uh really cool concept. I I'm running out of time actually, but if you're interesting in in the last one, you can go to the booth and we have a and we can have a talk. So, and to the interesting part. So, our bounty is looks like so we have uh we have three prizes. First place is 5K, second place is 3K and 2K respectively for the for the bronze.

Uh and uh it's a fiat fiat price. So and what we expect from uh builders. So uh our track is um visionary and we do not have really strict uh limitations. The only limitations is basic the only limitation is basically do not incorporate any gambling or betting me mechanics. So we want you to uh to focus to focus on uh gaming UX.

So um what are the main things to consider? So first uh we are on uh test net now. We're not yet mainet but we are in cipole and uh uh we expect that uh you build an app which will uh interact with some with any kind of smart contract deployed in our chain. We will be happy if you uh uh somehow find a use case for NFTs like merging NFT experience with uh with something uh from offchain world related to games and uh we we will be really happy if uh you will address some of any of gaming or game related scenario and we also have some goodies for you. So uh if you go to the uh to the description of our track in useful leaks you will find the uh uh you will find a uh UI kit of uh components for front end which we prepared for you and it's our technical requirement that you use it also we will be happy if you again deploy a smart contract on our on our chain and uh uh the the good thing will be uh when you will be applying with your uh with the applications is to have a uh readme that will describe the project and uh if you can if you can envision the future uh the future road map for your product especially if you can uh think about two steps ahead about uh uh some uh some integr some some integrations with DI or even gamefy it will be also a plus to your karma than you then you apply to the hackathon uh so yeah Uh these are the links that you will find.

Uh so if you want to uh to participate you go to the to the GitHub and find all the all the all the information you might need. Also we have a faucet so you can faucet if uh sufficient amount of if to deploy uh to deploy contractor chain and some other uh some other uh useful links that might come in handy uh when you decided hopefully decide to build something. So, with that said, I'm done and uh I assume I have uh three minutes for Q&A. So, I'm ready, guys. Hope you enjoy it.

So, any any questions?

Yeah. Go on.

You can you can you can came in closer by the way. Yeah.

Yeah. Thanks for that. Yeah, sure. Sure. uh uh if you go to the GitHub uh you have a very comprehensive renb with what all the dependencies and uh the walkthrough on how to install everything and how to use everything and I also believe we have some uh some pre uh pre preset uh smart contracts that you may reference to when when building.

So go to the GitHub like we we we tried our best to make it as as detailed as possible. So yeah, you you will have a bet so you you will have a good uh deex.

Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. Thank you. Thank you for the question. So anyone else Hey. Yeah.

Go on. Uh really good question. So uh I would say that uh we already have that. So you do not blocked by any uh ecosystem requirement. For example, using our wallet exclusively to interact with NFTs.

Uh for NFTs, for example, we use uh the common standards like most of the NFTs are 7:1 or 1155. So you can basically do whatever you want. And in the future we uh we now talking to to several to several protocols to launch omni chain NFTs. Uh so and so NFTs that will be issued on uh exk will be transferable between elastic chains within uh within uh with an elastic chain ecosystem of of zk sync like with with other zk chains and also in the future when we uh when we uh uh launch omni chain NFTs it will be uh transferable to other rollups and even to L1 Ethereum. It's a good connection.

Thanks. Yeah. Thank you guys. If uh you have any questions or more questions, you can come to the booth at the venue. So, see you all.

Thanks.
