Open Conversations: Some Information Needs a Plan, Not Just Storage (Kieran Prasch)
Mon, Feb 2, 2026, 12:00 AM
Some information isn’t meant to be public right away—but it also can’t be left to chance. In this conversation, Kieran Prasch talks about building systems for handling sensitive information over time. From journalism and civil action to access instructions and digital assets, he explores what it means to plan for situations where someone may be unavailable, detained, or unable to act. During the Funding the Commons Builder Residency in Buenos Aires, Kieran worked on a decentralized, end-to-end encrypted dead man’s switch designed to ensure information reaches the right people under the right conditions. The work is about treating information as something that needs care, not just storage. Filmed at Funding the Commons Builder Residency, Buenos Aires, November 2025.
