In November 2025, we gathered in Buenos Aires for the 14th edition of Funding the Commons—bringing builders, researchers, funders, and policymakers together during DevConnect to focus on RealFi: financial infrastructure for the real world. Together, we explored what it takes to build systems that work under real constraints—economic instability, institutional fragmentation, and unequal power. From privacy as a condition for democracy, to financial access, governance, identity, and public-interest blockchain infrastructure, the focus stayed close to lived experience and real users. Hosted at Fundación Beethoven, Funding the Commons: Buenos Aires connected global ecosystems with local realities—grounding public goods funding, civic tech, and open infrastructure in practical need rather than speculation.
