AI4PG: Bridging AI Research & Public Goods Funding: David Dao argues that public goods funding research is stuck in a “random walk” of new mechanisms without shared evaluation. Drawing lessons from AI, he makes the case for clearer hypotheses, better benchmarks, and much larger datasets. David also shares early work on community-driven comparisons (a “PGF arena” model) and a dataset effort to turn forum discourse into usable research input, alongside a push to bring more academic collaboration into the field.
